on the journey of healing and growth

/ˈmerəˌstem/

mer•i•stem

The region of cells capable of division and growth in plants. Meristems form anew from other cells in injured tissues and are responsible for wound healing. Unlike animals, plants continue to grow throughout their entire life span because of the unlimited division of meristematic regions.

Jean has been on an intentional journey of healing and growth for over fifteen years, and is continually seeking to learn more about God, herself, and others. This journey has taken her from the corporate world to teaching at a school for emotionally troubled children to getting a masters degree in therapy. She believes that everyone is capable of healing and growth, and is passionate about walking with people who are pursuing wholeness in their lives. In addition to her own intentional growth journey, Jean draws from over fifteen years of leadership roles in various non-profits and faith communities.

Jean has her M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Fuller Seminary and her B.S. in Economics from Caltech. She was born and raised in the Los Angeles area, called Houston home for eight years, then spent a year with her family on a cross-continental RV journey in an Airstream. She now lives in Manhattan with her husband, three boys, and mal-shi puppy.
